Double R Meats welcomes any hunting
season as hunting is a favorite activity for the employer as well as the
employees. Being hunters ourselves, we know the importance of properly processing
the harvest. We guarantee that all meat brought into our establishment will
be individually processed. The wild game you bring in, will be the same
wild game you take home. We take care of everything from skinning to freezing.
We take pride in going the extra mile to process your meat according to
your personal preferences. Processing includes cutting and wrapping roasts,
chops, steaks, grinding the trimmings and making sausages and jerky.
Listed below are some helpful tips to properly care for your wild game
before bringing it to us.
1. Clean carcass thoroughly.
2. Hang and cool animal as soon as possible. Cool at 40 degrees or less.
3. Remove any blood clots, hair, dirt or excess fat if deboning your
own animal.
4. If bringing trimmings in for processing, keep each package of meat
under 20 pounds for even thawing.

Fish
Double R Meats will happily cure and smoke cleaned
fish. Fish that has been cured and smoked makes a great snack or even a
meal. When you’re tired of eating the same old fried or broiled fish,
try something new--smoked fish! Wild Birds
Double R Meats is in the business of making wild birds
taste better. Curing and smoking pheasants or wild turkeys gives the
meat an appetizing twist.
